Shaping the Future of East Harlem
Earlier this week, STRIVE was thrilled to join with community partners and leaders in launching a pioneering new community hiring initiative, Hire East Harlem, to give East Harlem residents better access to good local jobs. See NY1’s coverage of the launch event here.
Joining for the launch were Congressman Charles Rangel, City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, and Assemblymen Robert Rodriguez and Keith Wright. See press release here.
STRIVE is proud to co-chair Hire East Harlem with Mount Sinai Health System. Together with the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone and the East Harlem Community Alliance, we are mobilizing community partners to tackle unemployment in East Harlem.
From the basement of an East Harlem housing project in 1984, Strive has grown into an international movement, helping men and women gain meaningful employment in communities across the U.S. and overseas. But we have never forgotten our roots.
Thank you for partnering with STRIVE to transform lives through employment.
